Description

Gooey, melty, rich cookies with a molten chocolate center.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz dark chocolate bar, chopped (for molten center)

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and sugars until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  3. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mix.
  4. Scoop a tablespoon of dough, press a piece of dark chocolate into the center, then cover with more dough. Shape into thick balls.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake for a molten center.
  • Best served warm.
