- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (oregano or basil, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating them.
- Spread softened butter on the cut sides of both halves.
- Sprinkle garlic powder over the butter if desired.
- Layer cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly on the bottom half.
- Place the top half back on.
- Wrap tightly in foil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese melts.
- Unwrap and bake 5 more minutes for a golden crust.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use room-temperature butter for easy spreading.
- Let rolls cool slightly before slicing to prevent cheese from oozing out.
- Add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
