Description

A delicious and easy-to-make cheesy chicken sandwich with tender chicken, caramelized onions, and melted cheese on a hoagie roll.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 6 slices provolone or American cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken, season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add onions and bell peppers. Sauté until soft and lightly caramelized.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet and toss with the vegetables.
  5. Lay cheese slices over the chicken mixture and cover the pan until melted.
  6. Spoon the cheesy chicken mixture into toasted hoagie rolls.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use provolone or American cheese for best results.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls lightly for extra crunch.
