Description

A quick and easy one-pan dinner combining ground beef, tater tots, and melted cheese for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 34 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1 tbsp oil (if needed)
  • Optional toppings: chopped pickles, green onions, bacon bits, hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion; cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed, then add garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Stir in ketchup and mustard if using. Let simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Add frozen tater tots and gently gently mix to coat. Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tots should be hot and starting to crisp.
  4. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover again for 3–5 minutes until cheese melts.
  5. Finish with optional toppings if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use cast iron for best results.
