Ingredients

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk (plus 1–2 tbsp if needed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- Extra butter or cream for brushing tops
- Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)
- Lemon Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1–2 tsp milk (adjust for consistency)
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract, then gently fold in blueberries.
- Shape dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle, cut with a biscuit cutter, and place on a lined baking sheet. Brush with butter or cream and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden.
- Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm biscuits.
