Ingredients

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cold & cubed
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- Flaky sea salt (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Cream cold cubed butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla. Beat until combined.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or chunks, reserving a few for topping.
- Scoop large dough balls, chill for at least 1 hour.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12–14 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool on the tray for crispy edges and soft centers.

- Chilling the dough ensures thick cookies.
- Underbake slightly for a gooey center.
