Description
Fluffy Air Fryer Churro Bites are a quick and easy dessert with a crispy cinnamon sugar coating. Perfect for a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in flour all at once. Stir vigorously until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides (about 1 minute).
- Transfer dough to a bowl and let cool 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, until the dough is smooth, glossy, and pipeable.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes. Line the basket with parchment (air fryer-safe) and lightly spray.
- Pipe or scoop dough into 1-inch bites (use a piping bag or zip-top bag with the corner snipped). Leave space between pieces and lightly spray tops with cooking spray.
- Air fry 6–8 minutes, shaking once halfway, until golden and puffed. Cook in batches as needed.
- Brush warm bites with melted butter. Toss in cinnamon sugar until fully coated.
- Optional dip: Heat cream until steaming (microwave 30–45 seconds), pour over chocolate chips, rest 1 minute, then stir smooth. Serve alongside churro bites.
Notes
- Use a piping bag for uniform churro bites.
- Serve warm for best texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
